Updated Wednesday, May 20

It’s with sadness and disappointment that the Troy Recreation Department announces that the Troy Family Aquatic Center will not open this season and many programs and activities are cancelled this summer. This has been an extremely difficult decision for us, but our first priority is always the safety of our staff and patrons. These decisions have not been made easily and we have taken into account industry best practices from our state and national peers, along with CDC guidelines.

It’s with heavy hearts that we are announcing the following closures and cancellations for the summer:

  • Troy Family Aquatic Center, including concession stand inside facility
  • Flynn & Firefighter Parks Concession stands
  • Senior Gardens
  • Senior Loan Closet June, July, and August
  • TCC babysitting service (Kids Korner) through end of July
  • Creative Endeavors June, July, and August
  • Friends of Troy Seniors office June, July, and August
  • Playground structures
  • Troy Skate Park

  • ALL Summer Camps (Safety Town, Preschool, Troy Sports Camps and all other camps)
  • Girls Softball
  • Group Swim lessons (We are looking at the possibility of private lessons)
  • ALL Senior programs and activities are cancelled June, July and August (including Senior Gardens, drop-in groups, dance lessons, Friends of Troy Seniors programs and events)
  • ALL Adaptive Programs are cancelled June, July, and August
  • Park Shelter Reservations for May and June
  • Room rentals will tentatively resume July 1 or in accordance with CDC guidelines
At this moment, we are working on pivoting our programming and providing the best recreation experience we can for our residents. Next week, we will be rolling out new and modified virtual programs (including camps), virtual social hours, and more. We believe that recreation has a positive impact on building strong, active, and healthy communities and aim to provide that the best way we can right now. We will continue to plan for the future and adapt to the ever-changing environment to offer you safe, memorable programs.
TCC Membership billing remains suspended until we can safely reopen. All who have registered for any of the above cancelled programs will be fully refunded.
Please visit our new COVID-19 section on our website for details on our phased reopening, FAQs, and more.
