Youth Basketball

Youth basketball is available for boys and girls in grades K-12. Rookie instructional program is for grades K-3.

Fall: Grades 2-6 play on Saturdays beginning in early October. Includes weekday practices.

Winter: Grades K-12 play on Saturdays beginning in early January. Includes weekday practices.

Winter Standings


Girls Softball

Three programs are offered for girls in grades 3-8. Grade 3-4 play slow pitch while girls in grades 5-8  play fast pitch.

The season begins in mid-June. Games are played 2-3 times a week at various ball diamond sites. Games are played during the morning and some in the evening.

Season concludes by late July. Registration information is in the Spring Troy Recreation, available mid February.

Martial Arts

More than 25 million Americans participate in some type of martial arts.  Troy Recreation offers three different styles of Martial Arts to meet your family’s needs.  Benefits include stress relief,increased flexibility, mental strength and character development.  Martial Arts focus on self defense.  Arts like Judo are characterized by grappling and throwing techniques.  Karate employs striking methods.  Juijitsu contains a mix of everything.  Martial arts overlap and borrow from one another.  Troy offerings include; Sanchin-Ryu Karate, Judo &Streetwise Self Defense (Jujitsu style), and Japanese Shotokan Karate.

Skiing/Snowboarding

Important Dates: 

  • Kinder Sparks & First Time Skiers/Snowboard Parent Orientation: Tuesday, November 19, 6:30–7:30 pm, Room 504 at Troy Community Center
  • Refund Date: Friday, December 6. No refunds given for any missed dates. 
  • Session Begins: January 10 & 11, 2020

Youth grades 1–12 learn to ski programs are offered each winter at Mt. Holly ski area. Registration information is in the Fall Troy Recreation Guide.

Sports Starters
Ages 3–5
Your kids will love this first introduction to sports such as soccer, football, volleyball, tee-ball, lacrosse, hockey, and more. Preschoolers will learn sports fundamentals such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running with easy-to-understand instruction and silly games. Our nurturing coaches will make sure your kids have a positive and fun learning experience.

Parent & Tot Play
Ages 2½–4½
This creative play program teaches children a variety of active games, exercises, musical activities, and imaginative stretches as they learn to play with you and other children. All activities are designed to keep you and your child moving, interacting and having fun.

Kiddie Sports & Games
Ages 4–6
Introduce your youngsters to the world of sports. Coaches instruct the fundamentals of the following sports: soccer, floor hockey, basketball, tee-ball, volleyball, lacrosse, pickle ball, football, and more! Silly drills and games, in a fun and safe environment, make this a positive learning experience.

Advanced Kiddie Sports & Games
Ages 5½–8
Ready for more? Improve your game skills and comprehension with this extension of Kiddie Sports. Players will receive advanced instruction. During scrimmages, players will learn strategy. Sample sports may include soccer, floor hockey, lacrosse, basketball, track and field, etc.
Classes do not run in the summer. Will resume in the fall.
