You must create a Household # with Troy Recreation before registering. Once your account is created, you can register for any program.
Learn how to do so here.
PLEASE NOTE: If you create your account online, you will need to verify your residency to receive the resident rate.
You will automatically receive the non-resident rate if you don’t do this before registering. Email driver’s license to
parksandreconline@troymi.gov or bring proof of residency to Troy Community Center.
No, you cannot register grandchildren outside of your household for Troy Rec programs. You must have a signed registration form and waiver from the parent/guardian.
Registration begins on a set date every season. The resident registration date can be found on the front cover and table of contents page. We allow extra time between the guide being sent in the mail and the registration date to make sure everyone has a chance to see available programs. Registration begins at 8 am online and in person on the registration date. Please be advised that you must provide proof of residency in order to receive the resident rate.
To participate in our programs, you must acknowledge/sign the liability waiver. This is done during online registration or when you complete the registration form in person.
We are fortunate to be able to offer our residents discounted pricing. We would not be able to offer this if we give this discount to non-resident family members.
Many of our programs are based on age and grade criteria. Please call our office to make sure we have all of your household information up to date.
No. Memberships refer to the Fitness Center or Aquatic Center only. You do need to have a household account created before registering for any program. This is how we track resident vs non-resident participation and make sure that residents receive a discount.
Learn how to create your household here. You MUST provide proof of residency via email or in-person in order to receive the resident rates.
ONLINE BALANCE PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
Membership fees were last increased in January 2019. Over the last several years, we have had increased operating costs.
Membership freezes were originally implemented when we billed every four months. Because we now bill monthly, this option is no longer needed. If you need to take a break, simply cancel and return whenever you like. Existing freezes will be honored.
- Freeze requests received prior to January 1, 2023 will be honored if within existing freeze policy (see below). We will stop accepting freeze requests on January 1, 2023.
- A pass freeze is extended members for a minimum of two months to a maximum of six months. Freeze to begin on the 1st of the month and end on the last day of the month. This request must be received prior to the 26th of the upcoming billing month. If you request to return before the two month minimum, you will be charged for the months the pass was frozen.
After evaluating all of our membership types and benchmarking with other communities, we decided this category was no longer in high demand. Only a small percentage of our members were in this category. Those members will be automatically charged the new Non-Resident rates.
You will be automatically charged the new Non-Resident rates starting on January 1, 2023.
We emailed an announcement of all changes to all current members on October 31, 2022. We also send a hard copy through the mail to the address on file. It is possible your email address or mailing address is not up to date, or that our message went to your junk mail. Please call us at 248-524-3484 to check.
Member cancellations may be
submitted online or in person at the Troy Community Center during our open
hours.
We are in the process of streamlining our fitness membership paperwork as we update them for the January changes. It is likely the process will be easier to rejoin than it has been in the past.
No, there is not an initiation fee to join.
The increases include raising staff wages by at least $2/hour for all of the part time staff in the building in order to get people to apply for our positions. Also, all supplies have increased dramatically. For instance, chlorine for the pool has doubled in price from $100/bucket to $200/bucket over the past year.
All are welcome to purchase a TCC membership. Different rates exist for Troy residents, non-residents who work in Troy, and non-residents. All passes require proof of residency and/or employment verification in order to obtain a discounted rate. Memberships can be purchased at the Front Desk or the Fitness Center Desk.
Anyone 14 years of age and older is allowed in the Fitness Room. We will also allow a child who is 13 to workout providing they attend one of our fitness room orientations.
At this time, fitness classes are an additional fee and not included with memberships. We hope to bring this option back in the future.
Current fitness classes can be viewed in the
latest Recreation Guide. Those with current/active memberships receive a discount off of these classes.
Occasionally throughout the year the fitness room experiences a larger than normal volume of pass holders. During these times we ask that workouts be kept to 30 minutes per machine if others are waiting. Once your 30 minutes is up you are welcome to move to another machine.
Annual passes and the prepaid portion (current month) of a recreation pass are non-refundable. Annual members will be sent a letter during the final month of membership and given the option to renew. If the pass holder does not wish to continue their membership, then they do not need to respond and their pass will automatically expire. For members who pay monthly through our EFT process, they must complete a
cancellation request before the 26th of the billing month to prevent their account from being charged for the upcoming month. The EFT billing date is on the 1st of the month. Your checking or credit card account will continue to be charged until the cancellation request is submitted. Telephone or verbal instructions are not considered official requests.
The City of Troy charges a NSF fee of $25 for any financial transaction that is returned by your bank as unpayable. This would include checks or EFT transactions involving your bank account or credit card. Please notify the Recreation Department if your account number or credit card's expiration date changes by completing a new EFT form as soon as possible. This will help ensure that you will not be charged an NSF fee.
CHANGING EFT BILLING INFORMATION:
- Log in to your account at rec.troymi.gov/login
- Your Username is your household number
- Your Password is your last name in ALL CAPS or your organization's name in ALL CAPS
- Go to MY ACCOUNT > Update > Billing Information
